WHY GET A DETECTOR?
The Kidde 10Y29 fire and smoke detector with built-in alarm is excellent as a home prevention device. It continuously monitors the surroundings and detects the presence of smoke and fire, for example in situations where there is a slow burn, which can involve several hours of smouldering before the flames flare up.

WHAT CAN THE DETECTOR DO?
When smoke is detected in the air, it triggers both an acoustic and visual/optical signal. An alarm is triggered and a red LED flashes. It is highly accurate and durable. It is long lasting and excels with added features such as internal circuit operation check, built-in alarm, temporary silencing for approx. 10 minutes, after which it automatically restarts to its original settings, smoke and fire detection (HUSH function) and of course end-of-life detection when the batteries run down.

HOW IS THE DETECTOR POWERED?
Thanks to the use of an optical / photoelectric sensor, it has a very low power consumption and is powered by a built-in, non-replaceable lithium battery that guarantees a lifetime of up to 10 years.

WHERE TO INSTALL THE DETECTOR?
The device and its electronics are protected by a Nanowax comfort layer that prevents water penetration in wet areas. This feature makes the detector suitable for placement in kitchens, bathrooms or boiler rooms, for example. Every user will appreciate the easy installation, maintenance and reliability. Easy to place virtually anywhere: in a caravan, house, apartment, boat, simply anywhere where fossil fuel burners such as fireplaces, stoves, gas boilers, heaters, barbecues, gasoline generators and more can be found. The package also includes installation material and the detector is secured with a special lock to prevent accidental removal, as protection from children or other persons. We recommend always installing at least one detector on each floor of the house, and especially in front of or near sleeping areas. This will double the chances of survival in the event of a fire.
