Inspection of PBZ - fire doors
A fire door is a fire safety device (FDS) designed to limit the spread of fire or to direct the movement of smoke during a fire. The operation of a fire safety device is carried out in accordance with the normative requirements and the manufacturer's accompanying documentation, or in accordance with the certified design documentation or more detailed documentation.
CHECKING FIRE DOORS
The check of the operability of fire safety equipment and thus also of fire doors is carried out in accordance with Decree of the Ministry of Interior No. 246/2001 Coll. on fire prevention, as amended, to the extent and in the manner specified by the legal regulations, normative requirements, the accompanying documentation of its manufacturer, and at leastonce a year, unless shorter periods are stipulated by the manufacturer, certified project documentation or more detailed documentation or fire risk assessment. After the inspection, a document on the inspection of the operational status of the fire safety equipment shall be issued, which must contain at least the information prescribed by the Decree.
As mentioned above, the basic functional characteristics of fire doors is the ability to prevent the spread of flames and the spread of heat for a certain period of time. In the event of a fire, they provide us with the time needed to evacuate and protect our health and property.
The use of fire doors in buildings is prescribed by the project documentation - fire report, firefire safety solutions for buildings, which are prepared by a person professionally qualified to carry out this activity.
The fire-resistant properties of the door are achieved by special construction (reinforced door frame) and the use of special materials (Ifire-resistant chipboard, foaming fire tape in the door edge, fire-resistant lock, reinforced hinges). Fire doors must be fitted in a specified metal, frame or frame surround.
