Snow (CO2)

Snow CO2 extinguishers are designed for extinguishing various types of liquids. Unlike other extinguishers, CO2 extinguishers leave no residue after extinguishing. This means that no other materials or substances are left on the surface after the extinguishing process is complete. Snow extinguishers can be classified as one of the most environmentally friendly ways to extinguish a fire. In addition, these extinguishers are not electrically conductive. You can visually identify a CO2 snow extinguisher, for example, by the special snow tube that is funnelledshape, which is designed to increase the suffocating effect of the extinguishing agent and is fixed at the top of the extinguisher. For heavier weights, the extinguisher has a special long hose which is finished with a flat nozzle.

WHAT CLASSES OF FIRE ARE SNOW EXTINGUISHERS DESIGNED FOR?

  • Class B - flammable liquids such as gasoline, petroleum oil, paint, or diesel

WHERE CAN A SNOW EXTINGUISHER BE USED?
Class B portable CO2 snow extinguishers are designed for use in technical equipment rooms. These include operating theatres with electrical equipment, server systems, laboratories, chemical industries, industries producingpaint, varnish, solvent and sterile environments such as clean rooms for pharmaceutical production, medical research, etc.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF SNOW EXTINGUISHERS?
Snow CO2 extinguishers are manufactured with different filling capacities, commonly 2 kg and 5 kg, to suit different needs and applications. The extinguishers are also built to withstand extreme temperatures, typically ranging from -30°C - +60°C, allowing them to be used in a variety of climates.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF THE RATING OF A FIRE EXTINGUISHER?
The extinguishing capability or rating is represented on the extinguisher by a combination of numbers and letters (e.g. 89B etc.). The numbers indicate the size of the standard fire extinguished and the letter indicates the class of fire. Fire class B has a total of 9 different levels for extinguishing performance. The highest level a portable snow extinguisher can reach is 113B.

WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF SNOW EXTINGUISHERS?
When using a snow extinguisher, it is important to follow the correct procedure for maximum efficiency and safety. For example, during a fire, it is recommended to maintain a minimum safe distance from the flames to allow proper CO2 dispersion while preventing backfiring. In order to ensure the reliability of the extinguisher when needed, regular servicing and maintenance must be carried out by our experienced service technicians. Regular inspection and maintenance will help extend the life of the extinguisher while ensuring its functionality in the event of a fire.
