EX MORTAR - FIREPROOF EXPANSION MORTAR
Protecta® EX Mortar is a dry white powder composed of inorganic compounds and perlite. When mixed with water, the mixture forms a fire-resistant seal with a high degree of thermal insulation; this seal prevents the spread of fire and smoke through openings in fire-resistant walls and floors, including openings created by penetrations.
MAIN USES
Protecta® EX Mortar is used to increase the fire resistance of flexible wall constructions, masonry wall and floor constructions, inwhere these structures are penetrated by various cables, metal pipes and plastic pipes, the sizes of which range from the smallest available pipes up to Ø 400 mm.
FEATURES
Classification for walls and floors made of concrete, brick, plaster, etc.
The product is suitable for cables, cable bundles, cable ducts, cable trays; also for steel, copper, alupex and plastic pipes and air ducts
Easy to apply with a very smooth surface
High degree of mechanical resistance: the material has a high load-bearing capacity even without reinforcement
No priming required before application to most building material substrates: however, metal parts in contact with the seal must be protected against corrosion
The product is suitable for most surfaces, including concrete, brick, steel, plastic, etc. However, it is not suitable for door frames or service openings that move
The product is certified for use in plasterboard walls, but Protecta® FR Board thermal insulation is recommended for these applications
Cures in 1 hour
The fire performance specification of the compound has been determined after 1 month of curing
Almost unlimited storage time (if suitable conditions are met)
