Overhead and underground hydrants

Fire hydrants are mainly used to supply water to towns and villages for fire fighting. The water is taken from the water supply system and thus enables firefighters to intervene in time.
An overhead hydrant, as the name suggests, is installed above ground. This type contains several outlets for fire and rescue hose connections. Above-ground hydrants are particularly advantageous because of their visibility. This type is usually located in a visible and easily accessible place. In order to be highly visible, overhead hydrants are painted in RAL 3000 red. The hydrant can be opened and closed with a suitable key.
Underground hydrants are installed in streets and public spaces underground and are protected by a cover through which motor vehicles, etc. can pass.

AREAS OF APPLICATION
Overhead and underground hydrants are most often installed near buildings, in public areas, in industrial complexes, etc.
HOW THEY LOOK
The colour of overhead hydrants is usually red or otherwise distinctive for easy identification. The underground hydrant is secured by a cover that is prominently marked.
